How to pair wine and food
In this section we would like to give you advice and tips on how to combine the right wines to your favorite Italian dishes.
Our Tradition
Lake Garda is populated by many varieties of fish: eel, pike, carp, perch.
Perch, known for the delicacy of its meat, goes well with light and savory, elegant and fresh white wines such as Bianco di Custoza.
In combination with tench, also characterized by its delicacy, the best choice is a slightly savory white wine, without harshness, like Lugana.
Alborelle (a typical fish from Lake Garda) are excellent fried and can be combined with a Brut classic method sparkling wine. To the light greasiness of fried food is well balanced by the creaminess, structure and effervescence of a sparkling wine, well completed by an intense aromatic profile and balsamic scents.
Tout can be paired with dry white wines. Even better if they’re young, vivacious and medium-bodied.
Lavaret fish has very white, soft and delicate flesh. A classic preparation is with butter and sage. The most suitable wines are dry, soft and fragrant white wines such as Lugana or Soave Classico.
We can also mention several typical dishes of the Venetian and Garda tradition.
